Ekaterina Lopatina was born into a family of artists. Graduated from the Moscow Academic Art Lyceum and Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Surikov, faculty of graphics, with honors. Winner of multiple contests for young artists, participant of many art exhibitions. «I often see beauty in common things. I always try to convey my vision and emotions in my works. My artistic world is not imaginary, but rather contemplative. Interesting idea, unusual foreshortening, sharp composition – these principles are in the core my artistic credo. Oftentimes I create series because I'm trying to tell a story and cover my impressions in dynamics. I prefer the genre of graphics, lithography in particular, which is nowadays a rare technique very few artists work with. Lithography gives the artist great opportunities for self-expression, although it is very laborious, because the whole process is manual work. And it's so exciting to take a freshly printed impression off the stone. Almost magic!».
